A few years ago I thought I would make a Bookshelf quilt for Sara and her husband Lee.
I printed some family photos onto fabric, I gathered up some ribbons and braids to add to the fabrics to look like book bindings.
Started to cut fabrics for the books, the backing of the shelves and the bookcase itself.
I got a couple of shelves complete and that was it, other things got in the way until this year.
Now it’s complete and gifted, they loved it!!
The grey at the bottom represents the carpet and the cream the walls of the room.
I just can’t believe how real it looks!
