- 72 x 2 1⁄2” squares of assorted fabrics – 30 need to be lights for the head area and the others dark
- 1 x 8 1⁄2” and 1 x 6 1⁄2” square for the tail
- 4” square of fabric for the beak
- Small amount of felt for the comb
- Fibre fill
- 20cm calico – to make a bag to hold the sand
- Sand
- Thread
- 2 x buttons for eyes
