A few years ago, two of my sisters travelled to Japan. Whilst they were there they purchased some beautiful Japanese fabrics, which they gave to me. There were seven different fabrics in reds, yellows, blues and purples. I tossed around what to do with them for quite some time, before deciding on a curvy design. I began in one corner, alternating lights and darks in curvy strips, flowing around the corner to the opposite side. It was all tied together with a stripy border on two sides. I was extremely happy with the resulting quilt, which I named ‘Sisters’.
‘Sisters’ was entered in the 2018 Canberra Quilt Show, where it was awarded 2nd place in the Large Quilt (Professional) Category. I am completely thrilled! It was amazing to see my quilt hanging at the Quilt Show with its red ribbon. Such a great feeling.
Now I am planning a new quilt ready for next year’s Quilt Show!
